How do I get rid of a big nasty white pimple quickly and prevent them in the future?

Apply moist heat with a clean damp washrag heated in the microwave, hot as you can stand, as often as you can stand. If it already is large and has a whitehead forming on top, it should drain itself within a day at the most. It will heal much faster if you do not meddle with it otherwise. Pimples are caused when the normal staph bacteria living on your skin somehow get into a pore and set up housekeeping. The immune system attacks, and cells die- that%26#039;s what%26#039;s in that whitehead. Currently your body has it all walled off and isolated from other skin cells, and that%26#039;s exactly what you want to keep. If you squeeze, poke or prod it, you will injure the surrounding skin and simply spread it to another spot, and in a few days it will be bigger, nastier and hurt worse. When it begins to drain, you can apply very gentle pressure along the sides to encourage it to drain completely. Use fresh washed hands for that part. When it drains, wipe your face down with a cotton pad and witch hazel. That will soothe the skin. Then apply a drop of tea tree oil, and leave it all alone. Your skin will heal much faster and better without your help, and doesn%26#039;t appreciate the assistance at all. To help prevent future breakouts, just wash your face and keep it clean. Any plain soap will do. Wash your face at least a couple times a day, and go easy on the makeup. After you wash your face, wipe it down with witch hazel. When you see a spot in the making, apply a drop of tea tree oil directly to the spot, at bedtime. In the meantime, apply the moist heat. This will either cure it, or encourage it to drain on it%26#039;s own. Your body is quite capable of dealing with the invader without any other help, and it won%26#039;t appreciate it at all. Keep your hands away from your face, unless your hands are fresh washed with soap, and then only if you have to do something. Makeup should be minimal, non-comedomic(meaning less likely to block pores), and completely removed before you go to sleep. Don%26#039;t layer makeup on top of other makeup. If you need more than a minor touchup, you need to wash the face clean and start from scratch. You can use an acne spot gel, a dab right on a spot, if you really want. Don%26#039;t use it all over your face, though, it really dries skin badly and dry skin breaks out just as bad as oily skin. You can also benefit from a steam facial every couple days, using a steamy pot of water and a towel, to open pores and clean them out naturally. Then wipe down after with the witch hazel. Once a week you can use a clay type mask for a deep clean and to help cut down on blackheads. For blackheads, use the nose strips. For blackheads on the chin or forehead you can still use the nose strips, it%26#039;s just a little trickier to get them on sometimes. Beyond these things, there is nothing much else needed. If this doesn%26#039;t keep the breakouts down, then you are in the territory of the dermatologist. But mostly just keeping the face clean and your hands off will do the best. Plain soap, witch hazel and tea tree oil will handle most daily cleaning and treatment needs. If you live in a big city, you may want to clean your face more frequently. The same pollution and smog you don%26#039;t want to breathe in also coats your skin. My teens have followed this and we have very few problems. It%26#039;s not the fastest remedy, but it is the easiest, best and cheapest.|||pop it and put neosporin on it.|||White toothpaste|||Sounds like an infection. I would sterilize a needle, swab the area with disinfectant, gently poke a little hole in it and gently/slowly squeeze the pus out. Then I%26#039;d wipe the pus/blood out and dap a disinfectant on the area again and do what the past post said about applying neosporin or triple anti-biotic cream.
